Senior Director IT Business Operations
This is an on-site position based in Panorama City, California, and requires local travel to facilities throughout the service area.
About the Role
This management-level position serves as the business leader responsible for the development, tracking, maintenance, and reporting of performance metrics (e.g., data quality, customer metrics, financials). The role oversees the delivery of analytics to evaluate and ensure efficient, cost-effective operational solutions that support systems processes and functional requirements, as well as the resolution of problems in technology and business solutions.
This position provides senior leadership with information on trends and legislative changes in healthcare technology and information systems. It consults with various departments and IT managers to ensure general security—physical, infrastructure, network, and application controls—are in place. The role also influences and establishes cross-functional and/or cross-divisional task forces to identify and document functional requirements, workflow, information sources, and system specifications.
Responsibilities
- Directs the operations of multiple units and departments by identifying customer and operational needs; analyzing resources, costs, and forecasts; and incorporating them into business plans.
- Engages strategic, cross-functional business units to champion and drive support for business plans and priorities.
- Translates business strategy into actionable business requirements; obtains and distributes resources; sets standards and measures progress.
- Anticipates and removes obstacles that impact performance; addresses performance gaps and implements contingency plans.
- Ensures products and/or services meet customer requirements and expectations while aligning with organizational strategies.
- Serves as a subject-matter expert and trusted source to executive leadership; provides influence and consultation in the development of the larger organizational or business strategy.
- Models and drives continuous learning; maintains a highly skilled and engaged workforce by aligning cross-functional resource plans with business objectives.
- Oversees the recruitment, selection, and development of talent; motivates and empowers teams; builds organizational capacity and develops high-potential employees for growth opportunities.
- Stays current with industry trends, benchmarks, and best practices; provides guidance and leadership when difficult decisions need to be made.
- Ensures performance management guidelines and expectations align with and drive business objectives and results.
- Oversees the development of requirements for process or system solutions spanning multiple business domains by consulting with stakeholders and directing IT teams (e.g., Solutions Delivery, Infrastructure, Enterprise Architecture).
- Directs the management of business requirements to meet business, functional, and non-functional requirements (e.g., SMART).
- Assesses the costs, benefits, ROI, and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) of proposed solutions.
- Oversees and takes accountability for the solution design process, ensuring solutions align with business strategies, operational workflow, established budgets, and vendor service level agreements.
- Oversees the implementation of and adherence to standardized tools, templates, and processes to support continuous process improvement across business domains.
- Communicates lessons learned and feedback to consulting teams, senior leadership, and the larger IT consulting community.
- Empowers IT consultant teams to identify sustainable best practices that align with the strategic and tactical goals of cross-functional business units.
- Oversees partnerships between IT consultants, Program/Project Managers, and other IT planning leaders to drive workforce planning efforts.
- Determines if the necessary skills and knowledge required to meet ongoing and changing business demands exist across business or technical domains; ensures skill and knowledge gaps are closed through talent development and outsourcing as appropriate.
- Approves and directs additional staff augmentation through managed service agreements as needed.
- Develops the functional model for managing capacity and demand for IT Consultant resources across business functions.
- Oversees budgets and capital planning across departments and annual business cycle levels.
Requirements
- Minimum six (6) years of management experience.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience managing operating or capital budgets.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, CIS, Mathematics, or a related field and minimum ten (10) years of experience in business operations, IT consulting, business analysis, or a related field. Additional equivalent work experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
Preferred Qualifications
- Six (6) years of experience in capacity planning, demand management, and workforce planning.
- Six (6) years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with executive leadership (e.g., Vice President level and above).
Schedule
- Full-time, standard worker location (onsite).
- Scheduled weekly hours: 40.
- Shift: Day (Monday–Friday, 08:00 AM–05:00 PM).
- Travel: Yes, 25% of the time.
Pay
The posted pay range is $210,300–$272,030 per year. Actual base pay determined at offer will be based on labor market data, internal alignment, and a candidate’s years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location.
