Senior Director - H&B Consulting
We are seeking a talented individual to join our Health & Benefits Consulting team at Mercer, a Marsh business. This role will be based in New York and is a hybrid position requiring at least three days a week in the office.
About the role
This senior leadership position is responsible for leading a key unit within the health consulting business, with overall P&L accountability. You will drive business strategy, manage client relationships, and lead a team to deliver complex, high-impact solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead and have overall P&L accountability for a unit, including budgeting, staffing, and strategy.
- Manage all aspects of unit finances to contribute to the financial success of the business and market.
- Define and implement long-term business strategy aligned with global and regional goals.
- Lead key client engagements and large, complex projects, directing project teams and developing strategic solutions.
- Generate revenue through new client acquisition, cross-selling, and extending existing client engagements.
- Hire, manage, develop, and evaluate a team of professionals, providing performance feedback and career development.
- Establish and maintain market contacts, engaging with financial and HR executives, C-suite members, and other business leaders.
- Contribute to business initiatives, develop intellectual capital, and enhance market presence through thought leadership and industry events.
Requirements
- Proven senior leadership experience in health and benefits consulting or a related field.
- Strong financial management skills, including P&L and budgeting experience.
- Demonstrated success in client relationship management and business development.
- Excellent leadership and team management capabilities.
Qualifications
- Experience engaging with C-suite executives and senior stakeholders.
- Track record of developing and executing successful market strategies.
- Ability to negotiate competitive rates and coverage options leveraging company reputation.

Pay
The applicable base salary range for this role is $212,000 to $318,000. The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. This position may also be eligible for performance-based incentives.
Schedule
Hybrid role requiring at least three days per week in the office. Office-based teams will identify at least one “anchor day” per week on which their full team will be together in person.
