Senior Director, Development (Electrical Engineering)

The Senior Director, Development requires strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, ability to self-direct, and a strong background in data center design, engineering, controls, and operational requirements, with an emphasis on project/construction management. In this role, you will function as QTS’ point of contact for new client builds and implementations and liaise between the QTS Sales Team (Account Exec and Sales Engineer), the QTS Operations Team, the QTS Property Development Team, and the Customer. The position will report into the QTS Property Development department and work closely with the CHO and CRO, depending on the origin of the project.
Responsibilities
- Manage the customer deployment project delivery for each sold deal within each QTS location
- Coordinate with the QTS Property Development team, and supporting specialty consultants, to support customer’s design needs, pricing, customer approvals, & implementation of specific deployment scopes
- Manage the delivery of these projects, aligning clients’ objectives, business processes, vendor management strategies, and cross-group collaboration efforts across the QTS organization
- Drive effective client relationship management and efficient cost management, with the ultimate goal of delivering the project on time and on budget
- Serve as a single contact for Federal sales support on potential secured deals
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or professional licenses in Construction Management or Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or Architecture
- Ten or more years of progressive responsibility in development of Mission Critical Facilities
- Five or more years of responsibility of data center project construction with large-scale data centers or DC lease providers
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
- US Citizenship for this position is required by law due to federal customer contracts
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing multiple large, multi-faceted projects
- Experience with Construction Health & Safety Knowledge
- Experience with Customer Deployment Technologies and Equipment, RCDD a plus

Pay
In accordance with applicable law, the following represents a reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation for this role if hired in Virginia: $189,070.05 - $289,138.52. Please note that this information is provided for those hired in Virginia only, and this role is open to candidates outside of Virginia with compensation that aligns with your location. The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location.
