Supervisory Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains Director and Manager-level staff in the department.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains a strategy for leading and growing the EE team as they continue to evolve and expand their subject matter expertise.
  • Acts as a Subject Matter Expert within their engineering discipline and provides project support in that role.
  • Acts as the Engineer of Record, as needed, to support various projects.
  • Collaborates with senior leadership to develop and meet company goals while supplying expertise and guidance on operations, projects, and systems.
  • Develops functional relationships with the organization’s regional leadership to ensure that the regions are receiving the necessary engineering support.
  • Serves as a technical point of contact to clients for technical and project progress related queries.
  • Supports client development and relationships.
  • Maintains current client relationships and identifies new opportunities within existing client portfolios.
  • Possesses and maintains broad and in-depth knowledge of principles, practices, procedures, and standards related to electrical engineering.
  • Responsible for process development related to electrical engineering.
  • Develops concept designs, alternative options, engineering calculations, analysis, resource allocation, and engineering estimates for projects.
  • Performs or oversees designs for projects, developing conceptual design, and communicating the design to clients.
  • Maintains knowledge and general understanding of Utilities and Oil & Gas industry standards and codes.
  • Responsible for enforcing and maintaining all applicable standards/codes within EE team.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of power system protection and relaying schemes for electrical distribution systems, develops/reviews complex electrical system models and validates various system study findings/recommendations, develops electrical specifications for major electrical equipment, datasheets for instruments, specifications for PLC/DCS panel systems.
  • Trains, Development and Career Pathing: Helps support the discipline engineering management in the development of career pathing within their disciplines. Works with executive leadership to develop and maintain the overall strategy for engineering training and development. Develops an EE team growth plan to build a growth strategy, identifies current gaps, and implements a plan for their resolution. Responsible for growing a team, developing and maintaining programs that train, coach, and mentor engineers and designers. Evaluates, provides guidance, provides feedback, and runs performance reviews with direct reports.
  • Identifies, recommends, and implements new processes, technologies, and systems to improve and streamline organizational processes and use of resources and materials.
  • Reviews and approves proposals, cost estimates, and staffing requirements for projects. Assigns appropriate technical resources to support the regions during the development of proposals. Helps build and grow business opportunities by supporting and maintaining existing client relationships as well as supporting the regions with new clients and workstreams. Maintains a pulse on industry business cycles, trends, and technology and prioritizes BD efforts toward high-potential and top opportunities.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s of Science degree in Engineering field required.
  • Minimum fifteen (15) years of industry-related experience.
  • Five (5) years leadership or management.
  • Licensure as a Professional Engineer.
  • Construction knowledge and field experience.

Salary Range

$160K - $220K (DOE)
