Senior Director, Content Design - Consumer and Developer Experience

About the role

The Senior Director of Content Design leads the content discipline for the Consumer and Developer Experience Design team within the Experience Design organization at Capital One. This role is part of a leading information-based technology company guided by a mission to innovate and improve banking experiences.

Responsibilities

• Define the overarching content vision and strategy for a critical product portfolio
• Architect end-to-end experiences that shape long-term growth and competitive advantage
• Position content design as a core business lever by aligning with business objectives
• Scale the maturity, infrastructure, and operational excellence of the content design discipline across the organization
• Collaborate with executive Product, Tech, and Design leadership to drive experience excellence and business outcomes

Requirements

• At least 10 years of experience in leading content design teams and delivering products to market
• At least 10 years of experience working with and contributing to an established design system
• Experience in a design toolkit that spans content design, product design, service design and design strategy
• Deep experience shaping scope and opportunities in partnership with executive stakeholders
• Experience partnering with product managers, engineers, marketing and analytics leaders across multiple business lines
• Experience interfacing with executive leadership to solve problems, influence key decisions and drive results
• Experience architecting AI-assisted content workflows, intelligent taxonomy/metadata structures, or automated content generation engines
• Expertise with design and prototyping tools such as Figma
• Experience managing an interdisciplinary design team
• Track record of guiding, mentoring, growing and inspiring design teams
• Proficiency in business case development, tying product and user experience decisions to business value

Qualifications

• Strong portfolio demonstrating leadership, process, results and impact
• Preferred qualifications include deep experience shaping scope and opportunities in partnership with executive stakeholders, leading high-impact, highly complex projects, and interfacing with executive leadership to solve problems, influence key decisions and drive results
