AI Foundations is seeking a highly strategic, forward-thinking, and product-focused leader to serve as Senior Director, Strategy & Operations/Chief of Staff. In this role, you will serve as a primary strategic advisor to the AI Foundations (AIF) leadership team, driving agile strategic planning, and serving as a key thought leader in defining the future of AI infrastructure at Google.
Responsibilities
- Develop a scaled strategic narrative across all components of the business, synthesizing communication decisions between management and the broader organization, and ensuring strategy and priority alignment.
- Establish and run a solid business cadence, driving regular business reviews with executive stakeholders and key partner teams enabling annual strategic planning, HC and budget management, conflict management, running programs to improve efficiencies, growth and scale.
- Drive the formation of our strategic vision and roadmap, and define and lead strategic and operational initiatives. Serve as proxy for the VP of AIF.
- Manage and lead critical operational initiatives across AIF, developing compelling recommendations to the AIF and Core leadership team.
- Act as an integrator, connecting work streams that would otherwise remain siloed and ensure alignment with cross-functional partners. Lead team of highly-motivated professionals to execute in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum qualifications:
- - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent practical experience
- - 15 years of experience working in engineering organizations spanning work across engineering, product, technical program management and operations
- - 15 years managing technical projects in the software engineering domain
- - 10 years of experience managing a team
- Preferred qualifications:
- - MBA, Master's degree or PhD in Engineering
- - Understanding of the complex relationship between the organization and its environment, identifying connections and adopting different perspectives
- - Ability to lead effective teams and major complex programs, including track record of attracting, retaining and developing high-performing teams
- - Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation and organizational skills
- - Outstanding written and verbal communication skills that drive executional impact at scale
- - Demonstrates comfort with changing specifications or standards
Pay
US: $310000 - $432000 (USD) + 40% bonus target + equity + benefits
