About the Role
Onehouse is seeking a Senior Developer Advocate to become the primary public technical advocate of our company. This high-visibility, mission-critical role is designed for an active, highly technical member of the data and engineering ecosystem. You will act as a trusted product evangelist, guiding developers, architects, and AI practitioners on how to design next-generation data lakehouse architectures. By translating complex infrastructure capabilities into engaging narratives, you will play an instrumental role in driving the awareness, adoption, and scaling of the Onehouse platform.
Responsibilities
- Technical Storytelling & Content Creation:
- Author authoritative, deeply technical blog posts, tutorials, architectural blueprints, and deep-dives for onehouse.ai and quanton.dev.
- Maintain a highly active, influential presence across developer-focused social platforms (specifically LinkedIn and X) to drive industry-wide conversations.
- Deliver technical talks, run interactive workshops, host webinars, and participate in podcasts or developer panels.
- Hands-on Technical Enablement:
- Build, maintain, and open-source complete reference implementations, demo applications, and integration templates on GitHub.
- Architect and showcase seamless integrations connecting Onehouse with modern data infrastructure tools.
- Community Engagement & Feedback Loops:
- Serve as a core advocate and technical resource across open-source communities, including the Apache Software Foundation and modern Lakehouse groups.
- Gather unfiltered feedback from developers and customers to validate new capabilities, shape product messaging, and directly influence our roadmap.
- Collaborate with Marketing to coordinate major product launches, lead technical campaigns, and manage analyst briefings.
Requirements
- 5+ years of developer-facing experience in roles such as Developer Relations, Developer Advocacy, Solutions Engineering, Technical Product Management, or Software Engineering.
- Deep data/lakehouse domain expertise, including modern data lakehouse architectures, open table formats, metadata management, data governance, and cloud-native data management.
- Hands-on stack proficiency with technologies like Apache Spark, Apache Hudi, Apache Iceberg, Trino/Presto, Apache Flink, or Apache Kafka.
- Cloud infrastructure background with exposure to AWS, Azure, GCP, Databricks, or Snowflake.
- Strong coding fluency in at least one modern language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or Go.
- Demonstrated communication portfolio, including written technical content and public speaking experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Established digital presence within the data engineering or AI developer community.
- AI data infrastructure experience, including vector databases, RAG pipelines, or building data platforms for AI/ML workloads.
- Existing professional relationships within open-source communities surrounding Spark, Hudi, Iceberg, Trino, or Flink.
- Experience building developer-focused libraries, custom SDKs, APIs, or CLI tools.
