Senior Developer Advocate
About the role
Vast.ai seeks a Developer Advocate to own how the company interacts with the developer community. This role will focus on building and engaging with a developer community, creating technical content, and representing Vast at events.
Responsibilities
- Be a real presence in our Discord, on Reddit, and on X, answering technical questions and setting the tone for how Vast communicates with developers.
- Tutorials, example repos, and short videos demonstrating how to get something running on Vast.
- Run our presence at hackathons, meetups, and conferences, including attending conferences in person.
- Represent Vast at hackathons we're already sponsoring this summer.
- Give a clear read on how other GPU and AI-infra companies show up with developers, and identify areas where we need improvement.
Requirements
You've been an engineer and can deploy a model and debug someone's setup. You've built a developer community before, ideally from scratch, and you enjoy interacting with and engaging with developers.
Qualifications
- Time at a cloud, GPU, AI-infrastructure, or developer-tools company.
- Something you've made that traveled: a tutorial series people reference, a repo with real stars, a talk that got passed around.
- Working knowledge of the AI/ML stack: model deployment, inference, fine-tuning.
Skills
You like people more than most engineers do. Writing, posting, talking, and showing up at events is the actual day-to-day for this role.

Pay
$160,000–$200,000 base depending on experience, plus equity. We're profitable, venture-backed, and growing, so the equity is a stake in a real company with a real valuation, not a lottery ticket.
Schedule
We are located in Los Angeles or San Francisco Bay Area.
