Senior Developer Advocate - Startups by the Bay

Job Description

The Senior Developer Advocate for Startups will be responsible for driving developer engagement among startups in the San Francisco Bay Area, by nurturing relationships with startups, and within the incubators, VCs, and founder communities that support them. This role requires technical expertise, community building, and content creation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with founding engineers and technical leadership at startups in the Bay Area.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for startup inquiries and support.
  • Act as a liaison between the startup community and the company.
  • Create technical content such as blog posts, tutorials, videos, and documentation.
  • Develop code samples, demos, and SDKs to help developers understand and use our products.
  • Present technical talks, webinars, and workshops at developer events.
  • Advocate for our products and technologies within the developer community.
  • Gather feedback from developers and provide insights to product and engineering teams.
  • Collaborate with product management to align product development with developer needs.
  • Create and manage developer forums, communities, and user groups.
  • Organize and participate in developer events, meetups, and hackathons.
  • Foster a sense of collaboration and support within the developer community.
  • Develop and deliver educational resources, training materials, and documentation.
  • Provide guidance and best practices to help developers succeed with our technologies.
  • Conduct technical workshops and training sessions.
  • Utilize data and analytics to track developer engagement and measure the impact of developer advocacy efforts.
  • Provide data-driven insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Prepare regular reports on developer community performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in developer advocacy, developer relations, or a related technical role.
  • Deep technical knowledge and proficiency in relevant technologies.
  • Exceptional public speaking, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Strong content creation abilities, including writing, video creation, and code samples.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and community-building skills.
  • Passion for technology and fostering a thriving developer community.

Pay

The annual base salary range for this position based in the United States is $190,000—$260,000 USD.
