Senior Debug System Engineer, Datacenter
About the role
Join NVIDIA's datacenter product engineering team in our Operations organization and be at the forefront of technological advancement! As a Senior System Debug Engineer, you will drive failure analysis and debug efforts during our New Product Introduction (NPI) phase. You'll collaborate with some of the smartest minds in the industry to ensure the flawless transfer of GPU Server products from development engineering to mass production. Your expertise in servers, systems, and board development will be necessary in understanding the intricate workings of our GPU datacenter products and ensuring their quality.
Responsibilities
- Handle debugging Datacenter DGX, MGX, and HGX products, focusing on identifying the root causes of factory build problems.
- Perform failure analysis (FA) on GPU baseboards and servers at rack, system, and/or component level (including from L6 to L11/rack level).
- Analyze logs and failures that may span Hardware (HW), Software (SW), and Firmware (FW) and propose debug and mitigation strategies.
- Build experiments and collect/analyze data for Failure Analysis root cause.
- Engage in Build for Test, Manufacturing (DFx) enabling efforts and deliver products according to schedule.
- Provide root cause and corrective action plans in a timely manner and write clear and complete reports detailing steps taken and findings.
- Develop debug guides for partner teams.
- Communicate effectively with industry vendors, suppliers, internal and external engineers, factory personnel, and sales/marketing teams in the US and overseas.
Requirements
- 8+ years of working experience in a related field.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Excellent failure analysis or debug experience on motherboards, graphic cards, servers, PCs, or datacenter products.
- Demonstrated knowledge in enabling DFx requirements.
- Proven understanding and strong skills in one or more areas: Hardware, Software, Component, Process, Test, Validation.
- Strong negotiation, organization, and time management skills.
- Familiarity with sophisticated characterization equipment, including oscilloscopes and analyzers.
- Problem solving mentality.
- Able to work well in a team as well as independently.
- Strong ability to communicate clearly and work cohesively with partners.
- Able to travel to support factory efforts as required.

- Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. The base salary range is $168,000 - $258,750.

Pay
Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. The base salary range is $168,000 - $258,750.
