Role Overview
Confluent is seeking a Customer Success Technical Architect (CSTA) to advise and advocate for customers using the Confluent product suite. The role involves ensuring customer success, retention, and expansion through technical guidance and collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance and best practices for Confluent product suite to ensure customer success, retention, and expansion.
- Partner with Customer Solutions, Sales, Product Management, and Engineering to help customers accelerate time to value, maximize product consumption, and achieve business objectives.
- Build broad experience with Kafka, Flink, and Confluent IP, and gain understanding of complementary and competitive technologies.
- Work with a variety of organizations, from new start-ups to large enterprises, to build strong relationships and ensure exemplary delivery standards.
- Identify and address customer technical objections, develop strategies to overcome adoption barriers, and support customers through various lifecycle activities.
- Guide customers on the data streaming maturity curve through advanced technical recommendations and help them achieve their business goals.
- Document and transfer knowledge to customers and internal teams, assisting them in advancing their knowledge and abilities.
- Influence Confluent product roadmaps based on customer feedback and use cases.
- Help Technical Support Engineers and Professional Services teams by addressing customer issues and rolling up sleeves when needed.
Requirements
- Demonstrated success in a technical field role for a product or SaaS company with enterprise customers.
- Strong understanding of modern infrastructure and streaming technologies, with a passion for solving complex technical problems in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to explain technical issues and solutions to various personas.
- Ability to manage multiple customers simultaneously, paying close attention to detail and delivering results across multiple initiatives.
- Collaborative spirit, outstanding consulting and relationship management skills, and the ability to switch contexts quickly.
- Hands-on knowledge of one or more key cloud vendors (AWS, GCP, Azure), solid understanding of cloud networking and security technologies, and experience with JVM tuning and troubleshooting.
- Experience with Java Virtual Machine (JVM) tuning and troubleshooting, operating Linux on RedHat and Debian distributions, and experience with multiple programming languages (Java, Python, Go).
- Experience with Apache Kafka and Apache Flink, and familiarity with technologies like Spark, Flink, Hadoop, Cassandra, etc.
- Experience with emerging technologies and the ability to stay updated on industry trends, market dynamics, and key players.
- Strategic thinking and the ability to develop industry insights and solutions that drive business value and address pressing industry challenges.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Confluent Developer or Administrator certifications.
- Experience with Confluent Developer and Administrator certifications.
- Experience with Apache Kafka and Apache Flink.
- Experience helping customers build distributed systems or streaming solutions that use Apache Kafka alongside technologies like Spark, Flink, Hadoop, Cassandra, etc.
- Experience with emerging technologies and the ability to stay updated on industry trends, market dynamics, and key players.
- Strategic thinking and the ability to develop industry insights and solutions that drive business value and address pressing industry challenges.
