About the role
Sompo has a unique opportunity for a Senior Crop Insurance Claims Auditor in our AgriSompo National Operations team. This position is remote and may be based in any of the following states: Kansas, Iowa, Montana, Missouri, North Dakota, South Dakota, Colorado, Minnesota, or Nebraska.
Responsibilities
- Accurately and efficiently audit and process crop insurance claims to meet quality, compliance, and production standards.
- Communicate with underwriters, adjusters, agents, and producers to ensure timely resolution of claim-related issues.
- Identify issues, evaluate solutions, and recommend appropriate resolutions.
- Research and interpret policy guidance and reference materials, including Loss Adjustment Manuals (LAM), policy provisions, Standard Operating Procedures, and other internal resources.
- Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and internal policies and procedures in all claim activities.
- Handle a range of crop claims, including moderate to advanced complexity.
- Investigate and resolve complex claims issues with limited supervision while maintaining accuracy and consistency.
Requirements
- 5+ years of crop insurance experience preferred.
- Proven experience in crop insurance claims auditing and processing preferred.
- Strong understanding of Federal Crop Insurance Corporation (FCIC) policies and ability to apply them in practice preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and general technical/computer systems.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across internal teams and external partners.
Qualifications

- Ability to stand or sit constantly/continuously.
- Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction.
- Visual: The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.
- Environmental Conditions: The work environment described here are meant to be representative of those an employee would normally encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. The physical environment requires the employee to work inside where there are limited extremes to heat and/or cold; moderate noise; a normal office environment. Travel required for meetings and trainings.
