About the role

The Senior Credit Analyst at Barnhardt Manufacturing Company is responsible for performing independent analysis on customer credit accounts, working with sales and customer service departments to set customer credit limits and terms, and managing customer account credit holds in accordance with established practices, processes, regulations, guidelines, and standards in a safe and efficient manner.

Responsibilities

  • Abide by, enforce and participate in the implementation and ongoing oversight of all company safety standards and regulations.
  • Perform any combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in processing accounting/financial transactions and maintaining accounting records.
  • Record, maintain, and review financial information in the company’s accounting system/software, databases, and/or journals and ledgers to ensure accuracy.
  • Classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records, using journals and ledgers or financial/accounting application systems.
  • Debit, credit, and total accounts on spreadsheets, databases, and/or accounting software.
  • Receive, record, and bank cash, checks, and vouchers.
  • Prepare, collect, calculate, organize, review, and/or process bills, invoices, receipts, statements, checks, and other financial documents.
  • Reconcile invoices and resolve errors by issuing debits and/or credits to customer accounts.
  • Verify the accuracy of billing data and revise any errors.
  • Compile statistical, financial, accounting, or auditing reports and tables pertaining to such matters as cash receipts, expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, and profits and losses.
  • Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Perform administrative support activities such as maintaining files/records, reviewing and processing business documents, and/or providing general support to business operations and managers.
  • Assist in the implementation of special projects and compile a variety of special reports as assigned.
  • Ensure audit compliance of Customer Sales Tax Exemption Certificates.
  • Develop, plan and implement special projects for the Accounting & Finance department as assigned.
  • Participate in committee or work group to improve financial and/or department performance.
  • Stay current on the latest developments such as federal and state codes, regulations, guidelines, etc.
  • Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in Finance or Accounting with a minimum of five (5) years’ commercial credit analysis or review experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
