Job Description

Tenet Healthcare seeks to add a Senior Counsel, Operations to its legal team based in its Dallas, TX headquarters or its Nashville, TN office. The successful lawyer will join a high impact and growing legal team and be expected to provide legal advice on a wide variety of matters related to Tenet’s portfolio of facilities.

Responsibilities

  • General legal guidance for Tenet’s clinical organization
  • Review and analysis of all arrangements between Tenet facilities and other parties for compliance with Stark, anti-kickback and other fraud and abuse laws, EMTALA, HIPAA, and any other regulatory requirements applicable to such arrangements
  • Give training presentations to personnel on legal issues pertaining to facility operations

Required Skills

  • A minimum of five years of experience in health care law
  • Solid experience in a healthcare operations law practice
  • A working knowledge of health care regulations, including experience in health care-related drafting and transactional matters
  • Prior large law firm experience is highly preferred

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor Degree from an ASA Accredited Law School is required and fully qualified to practice in the State of Texas or Tennessee
  • Approximately 5 percent travel may be required. Selected candidates will be required to pass a Motor Vehicle Record check
