Senior Counsel - Employment and Litigation

Responsibilities
- Manage ongoing litigation, including employment, real estate and commercial litigation.
- Counsel on employment and compensation related matters, including hiring, discipline, accommodations and leaves, and serve as a liaison to the human resources department.
- Support the development of organizational policies, procedures and business strategies.
- Effectively leverage outside law firm attorneys and manage relationships with external legal affiliates.
- Provide advice regarding compliance with various laws and regulations, including wage and hour and employment practices laws.
- Supporting the Company in its compliance program, including maintain the Company’s Code of Ethics and Whistleblower Hotline.
- Manage the negotiation and evaluation of a wide variety of commercial contracts.
- Assist with additional legal projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Doctorate of Jurisprudence from an accredited program required.
- Licensed to practice law in at least one state.
- A minimum of five years of relevant experience. A mix of law firm and in-house legal experience is preferred.
- Proficient ability to communicate effectively.
- Proficient knowledge of employment laws.
- Proficient presentation skills to effectively present information to an audience of varying responsibility within the company.
- Possess the ability to receive and apply cross-functional learnings; willingness to work in groups as needed so the organization achieves or exceeds its overall business objectives.
- Demonstrated capacity for gathering and scrutinizing information to identify issues, opportunities, patterns, and sustainable, cost-conscious business solutions.
- Consistently demonstrates a commitment to GameStop policies and procedures, including but not limited to, attendance, confidentiality, conflict of interest, and ethical responsibilities.
