About the role
Own cost accounting for a manufacturer of flight hardware and precision aerospace structures, delivering the cost, inventory, and profitability analysis that supports program and executive decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, analyze, and report standard vs. actual costs; identify variances and improvement opportunities across manufacturing costs and production overhead.
- Analyze inventory for accurate valuation and proper costing methods; partner with supply chain and operations on inventory control and stock levels.
- Support annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-range plans with cost-trend and forecasting insight.
- Own month-end close entries for cost accounting — COGS reconciliation, inventory valuation adjustments, and variances — supporting financial statement accuracy.
- Develop and execute cost control and reduction initiatives with management, and support internal and external audits with records, documentation, and analysis.
Requirements
- Cost accounting experience in a manufacturing setting, including POC and government accounting
- Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred
- Strong cost accounting principles plus ERP experience (Visibility a plus); advanced Excel required
- Senior individual-contributor level experience
- Experience in any of the following areas welcomed:
- Percentage-of-completion (POC) accounting
- Government cost accounting (FAR / CAS exposure)
- ERP systems (Visibility or comparable)
- Standard costing and variance analysis
- Inventor valuation in a manufacturing environment
- Mfg / aerospace COGS
