We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Cost Accountant to become an integral part of our finance team in the energy sector. The Senior Cost Accountant will be responsible for the financial management of our company's projects, including cost accounting, budgeting, and forecasting. This role will have a significant impact on the company's financial health, making it an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional looking to make a difference in the energy industry.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the general ledger and cost accounting operations for the company's projects.
• Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, providing insights and recommendations to enhance profitability and efficiency.
• Develop and maintain project budgets, working closely with project managers to ensure financial goals are met.
• Forecast financial outcomes for projects, taking into account potential risks and opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial processes and improve financial reporting.
• Participate in the annual audit process, providing necessary documentation and explanations for audit queries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or CPA certification is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in the energy industry.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger functions, financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail.
• Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
