Senior Corporate Paralegal
About the role
The company is seeking temporary legal support (4-6 months) on a part time basis (20-40 hours per week) to assist its in-house legal team with IP management, trade compliance, philanthropy, and commercial agreements.
Responsibilities
- Support trade compliance functions, including export/import documentation, classification tracking, and coordination with internal stakeholders and external agencies.
- Serve as a key point of contact with outside IP counsel, foreign associates, and filing agents to keep patent and trademark matters moving on schedule.
- Aid in the company's philanthropic giving program — tracking commitments, processing requests, and coordinating with community partners.
Requirements
- Senior level paralegal or legal support experience, ideally in a corporate or in-house setting.
- Exposure to import and export trade compliance is a plus but not required.
- Knowledge of patents and trademarks a nice plus.
- Proactive attitude to work with a team on a host of different matters and other paralegals and attorneys.
- A quick learner who can pick up new filing/management systems and adapt to evolving processes.
Qualifications
- Basic legal education (J.D.) preferred.
- Experience in corporate transactions and trade compliance.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of intellectual property laws and regulations.

Pay
The annualized pay for this position ranges from $110,000 to $140,000 when calculated on a full-time basis. Pay for contract engagements is based on multiple factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, credentials, location, market supply/demand, and the candidate’s preference (each candidate’s pay rate affects the client bill rate which can affect the candidate’s competitiveness for the position).
Schedule
This is a hybrid work schedule requiring some time each week in the downtown Austin office and remaining time worked remotely.
