Senior Corporate Counsel

About the role

The Senior Corporate Counsel will serve as the primary legal advisor for the company's U.S. operations, providing practical, business-oriented counsel on a broad range of matters, including commercial contracts and transactions, employment matters, litigation management, regulatory and compliance issues, and other day-to-day legal needs affecting the U.S. business.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical, business-oriented counsel on a broad range of matters, including commercial contracts and transactions, employment matters, litigation management, regulatory and compliance issues, and other day-to-day legal needs affecting the U.S. business.
• Independently manage multiple legal matters and competing priorities.
• Work closely with company leadership and support strategic initiatives.
• Partner with colleagues across multiple business functions and coordinate with international stakeholders and outside counsel as needed.

Requirements

• 7+ years of legal experience, with substantial experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements.
• Strong corporate and transactional background.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active bar license and good standing.
• Outstanding professional references.

Preferred Experience

• Prior in-house legal experience.
• Employment law counseling experience.
• Experience managing litigation and outside counsel.
• Experience advising businesses with operations in multiple states.
• Experience supporting cross-border business activities.
• Manufacturing, food production, consumer products, agriculture, or other operational industry experience.
