Job Overview
Stellar Roofing is a premier roofing contractor serving the Greater Rochester, Buffalo, Syracuse, and surrounding regions, recognized for superior craftsmanship, exceptional customer service, and an unwavered commitment to safety and integrity. As the company continues to expand, we are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Corporate Counsel to join our team. This is an in‑office position based at our Rochester, NY headquarters.
Duties
- Serve as a trusted business partner to the company by providing strategic, practical legal advice and solutions.
- Collaborate directly with senior leadership to address legal and compliance matters related to operations and growth.
- Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize a wide variety of contracts.
- Manage and advise the company on litigation and pre-litigation disputes, assess litigation risk, and supervise outside counsel as needed to manage budgets and costs.
- Research and interpret laws, regulations, and rulings to provide clear, actionable legal recommendations.
- Support institutional compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Maintain and periodically evaluate business insurance coverage and related risk areas.
- Support other ad hoc and strategic projects as needed.

- Strong interpersonal skills and a service-oriented mindset.
- Team player with the ability to handle a high-volume, time-sensitive workload.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Five or more years of legal experience in a business, corporate, or related setting, or relevant law firm experience.
- Licensed to practice law in New York, or eligible for admission within twelve (12) months.
- In good standing, with no history of suspension, revocation, censure, or other adverse disciplinary actions in any jurisdiction.
- Demonstrated strong negotiation skills through successful contract negotiations and dispute resolution.
- Excellent legal writing skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise drafts, memoranda, and reports efficiently.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Prior experience supporting a busy in-house legal department is preferred.
