Job Summary
The Senior Corporate Accountant assists departmental leadership with financial related duties as approved by the Chief Financial Officer. This position performs daily maintenance of the general ledger and reconciles general ledger accounts monthly. The Senior Corporate Accountant also assists with the monthly closeout process and prepares financial statements. Special projects may be assigned by the Controller, including report preparation for external agencies and Arcare leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, examine, or analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
- Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice.
- Review reconciliations performed by other finance department staff.
- Aid in financial audit preparations.
- Prepare periodic reports comparing budgeted costs to actual costs.
- Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems, utilizing current computer technology.
- Prepare forms and manuals for accounting and bookkeeping personnel.
- Survey operations to identify accounting needs and recommend, develop, or maintain solutions to business and financial problems.
- Participate in Finance Department meetings.
- Engage in organizational Quality Improvement activities.
