Senior Coordinator, Benefits Eligibility and Authorization

About the role

Benefits Eligibility and Authorization verify patient-specific health benefits. The team provides services to customers relating to medical billing, medical reimbursement, and/or other services by acting as a liaison in problem-solving, research, and problem/dispute resolution.

Responsibilities

• Achieve and exceed daily productivity goals
• Communicate with customers, physician offices, and insurance companies
• Navigate internal and external systems and websites
• Work in a fast-paced, performance-based environment
• Analyze customer accounts, including but not limited to: quotes of coverage, prescription and insurance limits, prior authorizations, and contracted pricing
• Review accounts receivables: denials, patient balances, limits, insurance payments, and customer payment responsibilities
• Submit and follow up for prior authorizations based on insurance plan guidelines
• Delegate and distribute workflow to corresponding teams when needed
• High attention to detail

Requirements

• HS Diploma, GED, or technical certification in a related field or equivalent experience preferred
• 3+ years of experience in a related field preferred

• Demonstrate in-depth knowledge in technical or specialty areas
• Apply advanced skills to resolve complex problems independently
• Modify processes to resolve situations
• Work independently within established procedures; may receive general guidance on new assignments
• Provide general guidance or technical assistance to less experienced team members

Pay

Anticipated hourly range: $16.75 – $21.75 per hour. Pay at Cardinal Health is determined by multiple factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s geographical location, relevant education, experience, skills, and an evaluation of internal pay equity.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM EST
