Senior Contracts/Subcontracts Administrator - Columbia, MD
Recently named by Newsweek as one of the Best American Mid-Sized Workplaces in 2026, Rohde & Schwarz is seeking a Senior Contracts/Subcontracts Administrator specializing in U.S. government contracts to work at our North American headquarters in Columbia, Maryland. This position provides contractual support to RSNA’s government business for the sale and distribution of Rohde & Schwarz’s voice communication systems, reports to the program manager, and is supported by the VP of Legal & Contracts.
Responsibilities
- Provide subject matter expertise for U.S. Government contracts, including the FAA’s Acquisition Management System (AMS) contract clauses.
- Assist program manager to prepare, analyze and manage proposal content, review the scope of work, and participate in team reviews.
- Advise internal stakeholders on contractual and operational risks and options for mitigation.
- Negotiate customer orders and contract modifications including SOWs, engineering change proposals, clauses or provisions, etc.
- Manage contracts, deliverables, deadlines, contract terms and conditions while ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Prepare customer communications, including program review meetings, business correspondence, in-person meetings, and coordinate with functional departments to ensure contract performance.
- Maintain accurate and complete contract files.
- Ensure compliance with Global Directives, corporate policies, contract provisions and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with program team members to ensure accuracy and completeness from a technical perspective.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field.
- A minimum of 8 years’ progressive experience as a contracts administrator for U.S. Government programs.
- Expert knowledge of FAA’s Acquisition Management System (AMS) contract clauses.
- Recent experience providing contract management support for an FAA program, including negotiating with the FAA’s Contracting Officer.
- Ability to work in a conscientious, consistent and thorough manner with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong negotiation skills to resolve differing perspectives by discovering shared interests and finding mutually acceptable solutions.
- Proactive and persistent in seizing opportunities and addressing situations.
- Able to adapt effectively in ambiguous or changing situations, and with diverse individuals and groups.
- Excellent communication skills, promoting open, honest, and respectful dialogue to build consensus.
- Analytical problem-solving skills leading to creative and pragmatic solutions for business challenges.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident capable of obtaining an interim or final suitability determination (Public Trust Clearance).
- Ability to travel approximately 10% of the time.
- Proficient use of software platforms (e.g., Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Deltek, SAP) as needed to perform tasks.
- Preferred: NCMA Certification.
Pay
The total compensation for this position is $76K–$115K, including base salary, variable pay (when applicable), and benefits. Individual pay within the range is determined by factors such as location, education, relevant work history, sales incentive structure, and job-related skills.
