HybridMarketing$143k–$217k/yrFull-time

About the role

Slack is redefining what it means to work — not just with other people, but with AI. As the multiplayer OS for AI, Slack is the only place where human and agent collaboration actually happens at scale. We're looking for a senior content strategist and writer who can make that story impossible to ignore.

Responsibilities

  • Define and own Slack's editorial POV — develop the ideas, angles, and arguments that make Slack's content worth reading; go beyond feature explanation to genuine market insight
  • Write and produce anchor thought leadership — whitepapers, trend reports, narrative essays, and POV pieces that establish Slack's position at the frontier of how AI and humans work together
  • Own content for major product launches — develop the content narrative for Slack's biggest moments; translate product and messaging into content that earns attention and drives pipeline
  • Shape Slack's digital content presence — partner with the web PMM on content strategy for slack.com; ensure the site tells a coherent, compelling story at every touchpoint
  • Support executive thought leadership — ghostwrite bylines, LinkedIn content, and long-form pieces for Slack's senior leadership; capture voice without losing edge
  • Set the bar — establish Slack's editorial standards, content quality benchmarks, and voice guidelines for thought leadership; be the internal expert others come to for what great looks like

Requirements

7+ years in content strategy, product marketing, or editorial — with a portfolio that demonstrates both strategic thinking and exceptional writing

A track record of producing content that did something: shifted perception, drove pipeline, earned press, sparked conversation

Deep comfort at the intersection of product and market narrative — you can read a positioning doc and turn it into content that doesn't sound like one

Experience owning content for major product or GTM moments, not just contributing to them

Strong editorial judgment — you know the difference between content that informs and content that moves people, and you consistently produce the latter

Fluency in the AI, enterprise software, or future-of-work space is a strong plus; genuine curiosity about where work is heading is a must

Qualifications

Master's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or related field

Proven ability to write compelling copy for a variety of audiences and channels

Experience working with AI and/or enterprise software products is a plus

Skills

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills
  • Strong understanding of content strategy and market positioning
  • Ability to craft compelling narratives and arguments
  • Experience with content creation for digital platforms
  • Strong organizational and project management skills

Benefits

Time off programs, medical, dental, vision, mental health support, paid parental leave, life and disability insurance, 401(k), and an employee stock purchasing program

The typical base salary range for this position is $143,400 - $216,900 annually
