Description
The Role: WTW is seeking a pharmacy consultant with experience in growth, pharmacy benefit management, clinical pharmacy, and client-facing roles to join their mid-market (MM) pharmacy team. As a MM-focused Pharmacy Consultant, you will manage pharmacy benefit projects for clients, provide recommendations on plan design and management, and serve as a subject matter expert.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the day-to-day lead for pharmacy benefit engagements on a portfolio of medium-sized clients, contributing to project planning, execution, and delivery while aligning with client objectives, budgets, timelines, and quality standards.
- Lead internal project teams and coordinate with analysts and cross-functional partners to deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Review, interpret, and validate pharmacy analytics and financial outputs to ensure accuracy, integrity, and actionable insights.
- Position yourself to grow into a senior relationship management and/or leadership role by serving as the subject matter expert on pharmacy projects and collaborating with industry experts on cutting-edge solutions.
- Collaborate with a strong team of highly experienced consultants within the practice and engage in cross-functional activities.
- Support clients in navigating pharmacy concepts, strategies, and results that drive action and improve plan performance.
- Leverage knowledge of industry trends, available products/solutions, and carrier/vendor differentiators to inform and influence client pharmacy strategies.
- Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with employer and vendor primary contacts to build and enhance WTW and Health & Benefit's brand.
- Contribute to intellectual capital development and pharmacy and other related perspectives to the broader health and benefits strategy and growth.
Qualifications
- 5+ years’ experience in one or more of the following: pharmacy benefit management, clinical strategy, analytics, growth, and/or consulting.
- A deep understanding of the pharmacy benefit management and US healthcare ecosystems, either through experience at a PBM, carrier/health plan, health tech company, or as a benefits consultant.
- A dynamic, strategic thinker who can change ambiguity into clarity, action, and outcomes in a high-paced environment that requires multitasking and prioritization.
- A passion for patient outcomes, client relationships, and working with cross-functional teams.
- An engaging speaking skill with the ability to communicate complex ideas simply and effectively; ability to speak credibly about clinical, technical, and financial aspects of WTW's offerings.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Availability to travel on an as-needed basis (estimated at 25%).
- A Bachelor’s degree required, with a Master’s and/or PharmD degree preferred for pharmacists.
- Active licensing in the home state and in good standing for a State Life and Health license within 90 days of joining.
