Senior Consultant, OpenShift Infrastructure - Top Secret SCI Poly

About the role

As a Senior Consultant on the Red Hat Services team, you will deliver solutions that solve our clients' business challenges through hands-on technical implementation and enablement of recommended practices. You will promote the adoption of Red Hat's solutions using your technical expertise and interpersonal skills, balancing solid technical experience, awareness of open source, and a thorough understanding of business processes to identify and solve issues at the enterprise level.

This position requires on-site work with clients in the Annapolis Junction, MD area and travel to customer locations throughout North America approximately 30-40 weeks per year (Monday-Thursday weekly). Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business and hold an active Top Secret SCI security clearance with polygraph.

Responsibilities

• Guide customers in building scalable, optimally managed solutions adaptable to technological improvements using Red Hat technologies.
• Continuously learn, grow, and adapt to new skills and technologies.
• Travel weekly (Monday-Thursday) to client locations.
• Lead technical projects, including collaborating on project timelines and maintaining project and technical documentation.
• Identify stakeholder needs and set expectations regarding project timelines and scope of work.
• Work collaboratively across diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Mentor team members and share knowledge.
• Present to C-level executives at large firms in a strategic advisory role.

Requirements

• Active Top Secret SCI clearance with polygraph.
• Experience delivering implementations based on architectural designs.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects.
• Experience identifying stakeholder needs and setting project expectations.
• Ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams.
• Associate or Bachelor's degree (or higher) in computer science or a technical discipline.
• Technical certifications such as Security+ and Network+.

Skills

• Experience delivering modern cloud platform consulting engagements.
• Linux system administration, preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or a derivative.
• Experience with source code management tools such as GitLab.
• Experience with or working knowledge of Ansible.
• Experience with enterprise cloud solutions like Platform-as-a-Service.
• Experience with container technologies such as Docker, Podman, and Kubernetes.
• Basic knowledge of networking principles (TCP, DNS, DHCP, IPs).
• Broad and deep technical experience with virtualization and cloud technologies (e.g., OpenStack, Red Hat Virtualization, VMWare vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Microsoft Azure).
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

Onboarding and Growth

After joining Red Hat, you will undergo an intensive customized training program on Red Hat technologies and Services solutions.

• Within two months: Prepare to join a project team by gaining an understanding of how to build production-ready technical solutions integrated with existing enterprise systems. Learn technologies and consulting skills through enablements designed and taught by Red Hat experts and certification. Gain exposure and collaboration within Red Hat Services and the broader organization through networking and community events.
• Within six months: Support Services on a project by successfully delivering customer projects as a technical lead. Develop knowledge of how customer use cases translate into project plans aligned with Red Hat’s technologies. Continue expanding your knowledge and network through enablement, communities, customers, and meetups.
• Within 12 months: Demonstrate technical leadership by successfully implementing complex, large-scale solutions in customer environments. Actively engage and share knowledge with internal and external communities of practice on lessons learned, best practices, and how-tos.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $130,420.00 - $215,300.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity.
