OpenShift Senior Consultant - TS/SCI + Poly Required
Red Hat Services is seeking a Senior Consultant to deliver hands-on technical solutions that address client business challenges and promote the adoption of Red Hat’s technologies. This role requires a balance of technical expertise, open-source awareness, and business acumen to solve enterprise-level issues. Candidates must be excited about growing their careers at Red Hat and willing to travel to client locations 30-40 weeks per year across North America. Applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business and hold a Top Secret SCI security clearance with polygraph.
Responsibilities
- Guide customers in building scalable, optimally managed solutions using Red Hat technologies, adaptable to technological improvements.
- Continuously learn, grow, and adapt to new skills and technologies.
- Travel weekly (Monday-Thursday) to client locations.
- Lead technical projects, including collaborating on timelines and maintaining project and technical documentation.
- Identify stakeholder needs and set expectations regarding project timelines and scope.
- Work collaboratively across diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Mentor team members and share knowledge.
- Present to C-level executives at large firms in a strategic advisory role.
Requirements
- Active Top Secret SCI clearance with polygraph.
- Experience delivering implementations based on architectural designs.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects and maintain documentation.
- Experience identifying stakeholder needs and setting project expectations.
- Collaborative experience across diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Desire and ability to mentor others.
Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in computer science or a technical discipline.
- Technical certifications such as Security+ and Network+.
- Experience with Linux system administration, preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or a derivative.
- Experience with source code management tools like GitLab.
- Experience with or knowledge of Ansible.
- Experience with enterprise cloud solutions like Platform-as-a-Service.
- Experience with container technologies such as Docker, Podman, and Kubernetes.
- Basic knowledge of networking principles (TCP, DNS, DHCP, IPs).
- Technical experience with virtualization and cloud technologies like OpenStack, Red Hat Virtualization, VMWare vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Microsoft Azure.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
Onboarding and Growth
- Within 2 months: Join a project team by learning to build production-ready technical solutions integrated with enterprise systems, enhance consulting skills through Red Hat enablements, and gain exposure to internal networking and community events.
- Within 6 months: Support Services on projects as a technical lead, develop knowledge of aligning customer use cases with Red Hat technologies, and expand your internal and external network through enablement and meetups.
- Within 12 months: Demonstrate technical leadership by implementing complex, large-scale solutions in customer environments and actively engage in knowledge sharing with internal and external communities of practice.
Pay
The salary range for this position is $118,600.00 - $195,680.00. Actual compensation will be based on qualifications and may include bonus, commission, and/or equity.
