About the role
This 1 year contract will focus primarily on public sector marketing across Canada, including provincial and municipal governments, with health as a related area of focus. The successful candidate will bring a strong understanding of how to market technology, consulting, and business transformation solutions to Canadian public sector audiences, along with practical experience using AI enabled tools and emerging agentic AI concepts to improve market intelligence, campaign planning, content development, stakeholder briefings, sales enablement, and executive presentations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the go-to-market strategy for public sector and health in Canada, with a primary focus on provincial and municipal government, in collaboration with key industry experts and stakeholders in Canadian business units, global teams, and marketing and communications teams.
- Continuously refine the vision, overall story, messaging, and go-to-market strategies aligned with market needs, the competitive environment, CGI global and Canadian priorities, and the evolving needs of public sector clients across Canada.
- Significantly contribute to the strategic planning cycle by developing industry landscape outlooks, identifying key public sector trends, and highlighting CGI services and solutions that meet the current and emerging needs of the market.
- Apply generative AI and emerging agentic AI concepts to improve public sector go to market planning, campaign development, market research, content creation, sales enablement, stakeholder briefings, executive presentations, and performance analysis, using CGI approved tools and responsible AI practices.
- Design, test, and document repeatable AI enabled marketing workflows that help the team work faster and smarter, such as market scans, campaign briefs, stakeholder preparation, competitive analysis, content versioning, event planning, and executive presentation development.
- Monitor Canadian public sector trends, policy priorities, technology modernization themes, procurement signals, competitive positioning, and market opportunities using both traditional research methods and AI enabled intelligence gathering.
- Work in collaboration with the external communications team to develop and execute effective external MarCom plans that build CGI's brand, differentiate CGI from competitors, and attract public sector and health clients.
- Work with the internal communications team to develop and execute efficient internal MarCom plans that raise awareness and understanding among the business development community of CGI's ability to address client challenges and needs, and drive consistency in our messaging to market.
- Collaborate with horizontal marketing leads, including AI, business consulting, cyber, data analytics, cloud, partners, and other priority areas, to translate CGI capabilities into compelling public sector narratives, campaigns, and sales enablement opportunities.
- Curate and maintain an internal database of business enablement assets, including case studies, brochures, service descriptions, battle cards, campaign materials, and executive ready content.
- Play a significant role in the conceptualization, development, and execution of executive client presentations, stakeholder briefings, and business development materials.
- Enable sales through the development and execution of marketing programs with a tailored marketing mix that combines “pull” and “push” tactics.
- Bring new ideas and practical examples of how AI can advance CGI's public sector marketing strategy, while maintaining strong judgment around confidentiality, privacy, brand governance, responsible AI, and public sector sensitivity.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a B2B marketing function, with demonstrated Canadian public sector marketing expertise.
- Experience in provincial government, municipal government, health, technology services, consulting, or complex professional services is strongly preferred.
- Good understanding of Canadian public sector priorities, stakeholder groups, procurement environments, market dynamics, and the role marketing plays in enabling business development and pipeline growth.
- Demonstrated experience using marketing to bring new services, solutions, or thought leadership to market and support pipeline growth.
- Strong AI fluency, including hands on experience using tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT Enterprise, or other AI enabled tools to improve marketing research, content development, campaign planning, sales enablement, workflow efficiency, and analysis.
- Experience designing or contributing to AI enabled workflows, automations, or repeatable processes that improve marketing productivity, quality, personalization, speed to market, or stakeholder support.
- Able to provide examples of AI enabled marketing work, such as an AI supported campaign planning process, market intelligence workflow, content development system, stakeholder briefing process, or agentic/automated workflow.
- Sound judgment in the responsible use of AI, including awareness of confidentiality, privacy, data sensitivity, public sector trust, human review, and brand governance.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly build credibility with executive stakeholders, senior business development leaders, industry experts, and cross functional marketing and communications teams.
- Strong executive presence, mature communication skills, and the ability to influence without authority in a highly matrixed organization.
- Able to work effectively in a virtual, national team environment.
- Excellent command of PowerPoint, Excel, CRM tools, and internal data and analysis tools to build intelligence, insights, presentations, and business development materials.
- Well developed writing, storytelling, synthesis, and presentation skills, with the ability to turn complex technology and market trends into clear, compelling business narratives.
