About the role
Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP (WRA) is seeking a Senior Construction Manager for water-sewer infrastructure, water-wastewater treatment plants and pumping station facility assignments. Founded over 110 years ago, WRA is known for its quality work and quality employees.
Responsibilities
- Effectively manage field construction inspection staff for multiple, concurrent tasks or projects
- Monitor contractor’s work for conformance to design contract plans, specifications and general permit requirements
- Track daily quantities and complete daily electronic inspection reports
- Review payment requisitions and maintain field construction documentation and as-built drawings
- Manage e-Construction documentation requirements for construction documentation quality controls and cost/ budget controls
- Specific experience with regional W-WW agencies preferred, including but not limited to Pittsburgh Water and ALCOSAN
Requirements
- High School degree or State Equivalency certificate required
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or other related degree preferred
- CCM certification and/or PE certification preferred
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in specified categories
- Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle for travel to and from assigned construction sites
Qualifications
- The ability to read/interpret plans and specifications
- Writing and drawing skills necessary to complete inspection reports and sketch books
- Computer skills for completing electronic inspection reports and familiarity with eConstruction software for project document control
- Good oral and written communication skills
Skills
- NASSCO certifications desirable including NASSCO- PACP/MACP/LACP for sanitary sewer pipeline and manhole repairs/rehabilitation
- Certification in Temporary Traffic Control
- Confined Space training and current certification required for all manhole/pipeline inspection assignments
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform a variety of physical tasks in the field
- Walking and navigating across rough or uneven terrain
- Moving around active project sites
- Performing physical activities such as bending, twisting, kneeling, and climbing
- Remaining in a stationary position—either standing or sitting—for extended periods of time
- Repetitive motions involving the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
- Lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds and/or carting objects up to 50 lbs distances up to 50 yards
- Driving to and from project sites which may involve distances of up to or exceeding 75 miles round trip
- Functioning safely in an environment with potential risks
- Working nights and overtime, when required by the project assignment
- Working in environments with exposure to a range of environmental conditions, including high and low temperatures, precipitation, and other outdoor elements
- Working in noisy conditions or confined/enclosed spaces
