Responsibilities
- Serve as the day-to-day leader on major infrastructure construction projects, fostering daily interactions with clients, designers, owners, contractors, inspectors, and relevant authorities while guiding quality work across approved plans, specifications, schedule, budget, and safety.
- Act as the primary point of coordination for subconsultants. Cultivate a strong relationship with the client, including regular communication regarding construction and contract-related matters.
- Actively engage in mentoring and facilitating the growth of employees by reviewing their work products for quality assurance.
- Direct the field services, including review of Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, Field Memorandum, Clarifications, Request for Quotes (RFQs), Change Orders (COs), Work Directive Changes (WDCs), monthly progress payments and recommendations prepared by others, Contractor prepared construction schedules, and documentation control performed by the field staff.
- Maintain a current copy of the agreement with the client and all change orders. Review and approval of employee timesheets, project status reports, monthly billing draft statements, aging reports, and more.
- Attend and, when necessary, represent the owner at public meetings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 10-20 years of experience managing complex construction projects from concept to close out, in the water, wastewater, and stormwater industry.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required; CCM or PMP certification is a plus.
