About the role

The Senior Project Manager – Mechanical Systems serves as the overall mechanical lead responsible for supervising the installation, commissioning, and turnover of critical mechanical systems within complex facility projects. The role oversees HVAC system installation and commissioning as well as process piping projects, ensuring systems are constructed, tested, and integrated according to design, quality, and operational requirements. Working closely with engineering, construction, commissioning, and operations teams, the Senior Project Manager coordinates contractors, resolves field issues, and ensures mechanical systems are delivered safely, on schedule, and ready for operational turnover.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall technical leadership for mechanical scope, guiding HVAC, process piping, and utility installations from construction through turnover.
  • Maintain strong on-site engagement to supervise contractors, verify installation quality, and ensure mechanical systems are installed per design and specifications.
  • Demonstrate deep understanding of HVAC systems, including air handling units, ductwork, cleanroom environments, and critical environmental controls.
  • Oversee HVAC commissioning activities, ensuring systems are tested, balanced, and documented for reliable operation and successful project turnover.
  • Carefully coordinate installation and integration of process piping systems, ensuring alignment with process equipment, utilities, and facility infrastructure.
  • Ensure mechanical installations meet engineering standards, safety requirements, and regulatory expectations.
  • Effectively coordinate mechanical work with electrical, controls, automation, and construction teams to prevent conflicts and delays.
  • Quickly address installation challenges, design conflicts, and schedule risks while maintaining project momentum.
  • Maintain clear reporting, documentation, and stakeholder communication throughout installation, commissioning, and turnover phases.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree (required)

  • Strong leadership and technical expertise in mechanical systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Experience with project management software and tools.
  • Knowledge of relevant codes and regulations.

Pay

Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Please refer to the "mcfa way" Bonus Program for details on profit-sharing bonuses.
