Senior Community Relations - Business Development Representative
Candidates must be located within 2 hours of Beckley, WV. This position supports Wise Path Recovery Centers' West Virginia-based substance use disorder treatment centers in Williamson, Morgantown, and a second Morgantown location opening fall 2026.
About the Role
The Sr Community Relations & Business Development Representative increases referrals and acts as a liaison between the company, community, and potential clients. This self-starter works independently to fill their schedule with visits to referral sources and develops long-standing relationships with individuals at all levels of various referral organizations.
Responsibilities
- Support behavioral health program initiatives through outreach activities
- Develop and grow professional relationships with senior executives, medical professionals, and other key decision makers of prospective referral sources
- Maintain a regular servicing schedule balancing referral partner maintenance and new business development
- Effectively convert inquiries to admissions by managing the referral and admissions process
- Understand the geographic area for potential referral opportunities
- Assist in the development of marketing/PR materials for building and maintaining relationships
- Work with a network of professionals and follow up weekly with data and feedback
- Arrange meetings with clients and conduct facility tours
- Work closely with supervisor and treatment facility leadership to develop new business
- Develop and/or participate in seminars and campaigns to obtain prospective referral resources
- Identify barriers associated with client access to services

Requirements
- Ability to work as a member of a team as well as independently
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules or policy & procedure manuals
- Proficiency in verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Flexibility in relation to department needs
- General understanding of treatment modalities, levels of care, and industry best practices for treating substance use and co-occurring disorders
Qualifications
- BA or BS in a human service, healthcare, business field, or equivalent work experience preferred
- 2+ years of experience in a sales or business development position
- Substance Use Disorder or Mental Health experience strongly preferred
- Experience in the healthcare field preferred

- Work Setting: Indoors, environmentally controlled
- Body Positioning: Spend time sitting and standing, making repetitive motions, and using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Frequently lift or move up to 10 lbs and occasionally lift or move up to 50 lbs
