Description

The Sr. Commercial Loan Documentation Specialist is responsible for preparing Commercial loan documentation for new loans, renewals, and modifications for various loan types, including Commercial Real Estate, Line of Credits, C&I, Term Loans, Construction Loans, SBA Loans, and Letters Credit. This role collaborates with lenders to obtain title work, flood determinations, and other documents as needed, completes loan process documents, verifies lien coverage and collateral positions, and ensures all commercial loan documents are accurate and in accordance with loan approval and federal regulations.

  • Prepares and reviews commercial loan documentation.
  • Collaborates with lenders to obtain title work, flood determinations, and other documents as needed.
  • Completes loan process documents such as, closing documents, book/fund loans, and post-closing and post-closing items needing filed and as pertaining to the loan.
  • Verifies lien coverage and collateral positions prior to closing.
  • Files necessary documentation to secure collateral position at the time of loan closure.
  • Ensures all commercial loan documents are accurate and in accordance with the loan approval and federal regulations.
  • Reviews all due diligence loan documents, establishes that all compliance requirements are met prior to releasing final loan documents.
  • Pairs and communicates with lenders, admins, attorneys, title company personnel, and various other vendors to close every commercial loan type in a timely manner.
  • Reviews document checklist and requirement waivers if applicable; works with Lenders and Admins to ensure that appropriate approvals are received prior to disbursing the loan.
  • Conveys to Lenders and Admins the need for key documents to fund/book transactions accurately, timely, and consistently.
  • Assesses all pertinent borrower, property/collateral, and documentation information and verifications related to documenting complex commercial loan transactions.
  • Possesses the ability to interpret and understand Credit Approvals, due diligence, title commitments, formation documents, etc.
  • Consults management to resolve issues or to seek approval for exceptions or waivers.
  • Provides problem resolution and service to internal customers.
  • Sets up document requests with proper approval authority.

Compliance

Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, investor requirements, credit policies and procedures and meets customer service standards. Adhere to all State and Federal Banking Regulations, receive and research new regulations, policies and procedures and implement them. Stay current on compliance and regulations by attending seminars and reading available information. Ensure necessary changes or recommendations have been implemented as directed.

Other Functions

Adhere to all bank policy and procedures as well as complying with legal and regulatory requirements. Familiar with and abides by all bank regulations including but not limited to BSA and OFAC. Working Conditions of the Job No particular working hazards. No unusual physical exertion required. Ability to sit for long periods of time, stoop, bend, twist and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Job Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Business Management, Business Administration, Finance or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of CRA requirements.
  • 4+ years of banking experience, primarily commercial loan preparation experience or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of Commercial related LaserPro experience and proficient producer of quality business purpose documents in the LaserPro system.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial loan documentation and letters of credit, including knowledge of the UCC and UCP related letters of credit.
  • Strong knowledge of bank policy and Federal and State compliance regulations, including Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code, Flood Regulation, CRA/HMDA, and UCP.
  • Possess strong communication skills both verbally and in writing.
  • Solid problem-solving/decision-making skills.
