Senior Commercial Credit Loan Specialist

About the role

The successful candidate will be responsible for all processes relating to providing administrative support to the Commercial Credit and Closing Department. This includes processing, closing, post-closing, and maintaining commercial loans, with a focus on complex loans such as SWAPS and Participations. The role also involves training and mentoring of Commercial Loan Administrators, interacting with various departments, and performing quality control on loan approvals.

Responsibilities

  • Train and mentor Commercial Loan Administrators
  • Interact with Loan Servicing, Accounting, Credit, and outside Attorneys
  • Review and ensure accuracy and completeness of loan closing documents, pre- and post-closing
  • Ensure compliance data for all approved loans is accurate and complete, including credit reports, flood determinations, EDR reports, appraisals, UCC filings, etc.
  • Perform administrative duties related to due diligence items prior to loan approval
  • Audit and reconcile annual financial statements for customers
  • Monitor Adverse Action applications and update tracking logs
  • Prepare accurate commitment letters for approved commercial loans
  • Coordinate preparation of all commercial loan documents, including NCDC loans
  • Prepare, process, and monitor loan modification requests
  • Fund all commercial loans, including OFAC checks, wire preparation, and funding notification
  • Post-close loan file review and compliance confirmation
  • Ensure proper insurance coverage is in place prior to closing
  • Process Express Loan applications
  • Create and maintain HMDA/CRA data for transmission into NContracts
  • Assist with Impaired Loan analysis, including order appraisals, research insurance and taxes
  • Identify “shelf” loans annually
  • Provide necessary documentation for audits and exams
  • Prepare management reports as directed

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree or formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor’s degree
  • Five to eight years of similar or related experience, with a minimum of three years’ experience in the review of commercial loan documentation, commercial servicing and related areas
  • Superior customer service skills
  • Legal/Paralegal experience desired
