About the role

Amerisure is seeking a Senior Commercial GL & Auto Claims Specialist with expertise in handling complex claims involving risk transfer, subcontractors, and general contractors. This position offers a hybrid or remote work arrangement, with office visits expected for candidates living near an office.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality investigation and analysis for high-complexity/severity claims, including litigated files.
  • Develop strategic input on agency and policyholder book of business.
  • Investigate losses, identify coverage, evaluate liability and damages, and review legal pleadings.
  • Collaborate with counsel to manage litigated claims and analyze documents.
  • Create and maintain proper reserves for claims, ensuring accurate financial exposure.
  • Determine and engage external resources for claim resolutions, managing costs and addressing indemnification issues.
  • Review and interpret commercial insurance policies, communicating coverage issues verbally and in writing.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to resolve issues and implement solutions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Mentor and train other claims adjusters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • At least 10 years of experience handling general liability and/or bodily injury claims of high complexity.
  • Experience with contractual indemnification and additional insured coverages.
  • AIC or SLA certification preferred.
  • Ability to obtain appropriate state licensing as required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel overnight up to 10%.
  • Ability to travel daily between locations.

  • Knowledgeable about commercial insurance policies and their applications.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Experience in managing large, complex claims.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
