About the role

Senior Cloud Engineers at IS are responsible for designing, operating, growing, and improving large-scale, cloud-based services for IS and non-IS caregivers. They collaborate closely with developers, testers, and program managers throughout the development process.

Responsibilities

  • Design, engineer, and administer Microsoft Azure (IaaS and PaaS) solutions, including monitoring, alerting, troubleshooting, and optimization.
  • Configure and manage Azure networking components, such as VNets, subnets, private endpoints, and ExpressRoute.
  • Implement, manage, and enforce Azure Policy in complex enterprise environments.
  • Deploy and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform and Azure CLI tools.
  • Create and maintain a comprehensive runbook library through scripting with automation frameworks.
  • Manage and troubleshoot enterprise server operating systems in both VMware and Hyper-V environments.
  • Support hybrid environments with expertise in securing and supporting compliance and regulatory requirements (PHI/PII).
  • Support an on-call rotation and respond to production incidents outside normal business hours.
  • Communicate effectively with various teams and lead technical conversations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 years of related experience.
  • Experience leveraging data and metrics to drive behavior, process, and priority decisions.
  • Experience in problem-solving using systematic procedures and investigating problems utilizing root cause analysis.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in configuring and managing Azure networking components.
  • Hands-on experience implementing, managing, and enforcing Azure Policy.
  • Proficient in scripting with common automation frameworks.
  • Expertise in securing and supporting hybrid environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic project management skills.

Skills

  • Proficient in building and troubleshooting servers in both VMware and Hyper-V environments.
  • Knowledge of implementing security controls such as CIS and NIST.
  • Experience in creating and managing server images with Packer.
  • Experience with configuring Desired State Configuration (DSC) using AWX.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps and ServiceNow.

Pay

The salary range for this position is determined based on relevant job experience and other applicable factors. The base pay range is provided; additional compensation may be available.

Schedule

This role is Hybrid and open to candidates residing within a specified radius of Lubbock, Plainview, or Levelland, TX; Hobbs, New Mexico; and certain locations in Alaska, California, Montana, New Mexico, Oregon, Texas, and Washington.
