Senior Cloud Engineer IS - Hybrid

About the role

Senior Cloud Engineers in the Hybrid Cloud Service team work in partnership with developers, testers, and program managers—typically early in the development process—to design, operate, grow, and improve large-scale, cloud-based services offered to IS and non-IS caregivers. Their technical skills are on par with their Development, Test, and Program Management counterparts.

Responsibilities

• Design, engineer, operate, and administer Microsoft Azure (IaaS and PaaS) solutions, including monitoring, alerting, troubleshooting, and optimization.
• Configure and manage Azure networking components: VNets, subnets, private endpoints, ExpressRoute.
• Design and operationally support complex enterprise network architectures using Azure Hub-and-Spoke networking.
• Leverage data and metrics to drive behavior, process, and priority decisions.
• Apply logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
• Solve problems using systematic procedures and perform root cause analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5 years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a healthcare environment.
• Creating and managing server images with Packer.
• Configuring Desired State Configuration (DSC) using AWX.
• Implementing security controls such as CIS and NIST.
• Azure DevOps and ServiceNow experience.

Skills

• Extensive hands-on Azure networking expertise (VNets, subnets, private endpoints, ExpressRoute).
• Senior-level Azure IaaS and PaaS design, engineering, operations, and administration.
• Azure Hub-and-Spoke networking design and operational support.
• Monitoring, alerting, troubleshooting, and optimization of cloud services.
