About the role
The Commercial Risk Client Executive leads the management and service of complex commercial accounts at a strategic level, developing and retaining consultative client relationships. This role evaluates and educates clients on missing or newly available coverage options.
Responsibilities
- Acquire and retain large, complex clients through deep understanding of risk, risk mitigation, and insurance architecture, aligning knowledge with client operations.
- Develop trusted partnerships with key insurance company partners and broker representatives.
- Manage and lead internal discussions on client renewals, including coverage comparisons, pricing, historical loss experience, and projected loss picks.
- Prepare complex submissions for the marketplace, including loss picks, deductible stratification, endorsement requests, and exposure information.
- Ensure the client team (Client Management, Risk Mitigation, Claims Consulting, and Risk Analysts) maintains service standards and exceeds client expectations.
- Assess final audits to ensure accuracy between client and insurance company partner audit teams’ identification of risk.
- Build trusting relationships with clients, insurance partners, brokers, and firm advisors through integrity and industry experience.
- Provide training and mentorship to the Client Executive Team for the assigned book of business.
- Share deep insurance expertise with firm advisors, client managers, and colleagues to develop and foster knowledge.
Requirements
- Obtain and maintain a state insurance license as required by the State Department of Insurance.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of commercial insurance experience.
- Exceptional technical knowledge of insurance coverage, contracts, market conditions, and carrier underwriting appetites.
- Experience reviewing, placing, and negotiating loss-sensitive casualty and workers' compensation placements, including captive structures.
- Preferred industry specialization (e.g., Construction, Healthcare, Manufacturing, Wholesale Trade, Transportation, Retail Trade, Real Estate, Services).
- Preferred designations: CPCU, CIC, CRM, or ARM.

- Ability to analyze complex risk exposures and existing insurance coverages, developing and communicating recommendations through risk mapping.
- Sound judgment and decision-making based on objective analysis and multiple perspectives.

- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications: Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Publisher.
- Working knowledge of EPIC is preferred.
