Job Duties
- Manage a diverse caseload of inmates, including those with special statuses, and prepare comprehensive inmate management plans.
- Recommend custody classifications and institutional/program assignments based on thorough evaluations from reports, interviews, and correspondence.
- Supervise and evaluate inmate progress, preparing detailed progress reports and making special status recommendations.
- Maintain accurate inmate information in the department's offender database system and evaluate gain time awards.
- Assist in training new classification staff, support the Classification Supervisor with administrative functions, and manage a Release Officer caseload.
Requirements
- Must possess two (2) years of Classification Officer experience.
- Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with file audit and custody procedures, possession of a working knowledge of disciplinary processes, capability to handle large volumes of inmate change and movement, and support of knowledge, skills, and abilities demonstrated on the application, in the education, in the work experience, in the work sample, in the interview and/or during reference checks.
