Responsibilities
- Communicate with insureds, carriers, adjusters, attorneys/counsel during the life of a claim
- Review and evaluate insurance policies to determine where coverage potentially exists
- Evaluate and review legal documents, including complaints, leases, and contracts to determine proper claim handling, liability, and/or insurable interest
- Advocate first-party property claims from initial report to settlement on behalf of HUB clients
- Organize and participate in claim review meetings and new business presentations
- Maintain a diary of files for follow-up and document all follow-ups within the claim file
- Interact with account service teams
- Create and issue correspondence, including written advocacy on behalf of HUB clients; track claim success stories
- Contribute to quarterly newsletters and articles based on claim scenarios
- Demonstrate effective team management skills
Requirements
- 5+ years minimum of commercial insurance claims handling experience
- Multi-line brokerage or carrier claims experience on first-party property claims
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a deadline-driven environment
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency with all MS Office Applications
- P&C License required; can be secured post-hire
Occasional local travel; limited travel outside of the local area.
Pay
The expected salary range for this position is $90,000 to $130,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience, and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope, and level.
