About the role

IMEG is hiring a Senior Civil Engineer in Idaho Falls, ID to lead design efforts as a project manager or lead engineer for moderate to complex projects, and to support the delivery of larger and high-complexity projects with limited support from senior staff. This role works closely with a team of engineers and consultants to provide project direction, engineering solutions, and advice to clients to ensure positive outcomes. The position supports an already successfully established IMEG team, with the opportunity to support current clients while helping grow new work and expand the regional team.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, oversee, and manage projects ranging in size and complexity
  • Assist Project Executives and Client Executives with design scopes of work, fee calculations for proposal generation, and contract reviews
  • Create project schedules with targets for milestones and deadlines
  • Serve as the point of contact for teams and clients
  • Create monthly billings, submit financial information to Accounting in a timely manner, and update billing projections and estimated completion percentage for all projects monthly
  • Ensure design follows owner standards and requirements, IMEG standards, and code requirements
  • Ensure design milestone deliverables are achieved, IMEG and client quality control processes are completed, and construction technical support occurs in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with design staff and coordinate scheduling of projects during all phases of design and construction
  • Schedule and lead progress meetings, provide meeting documentation, conduct construction site visits, and provide documentation as needed or requested
  • Respond to and resolve client and construction concerns, manage change orders, and obtain appropriate approvals
  • Mentor, train, motivate, and lead others
  • Build, maintain, and develop client relationships

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent, required
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License required
  • 7 years of experience minimum required, 8 preferred, in the building design consulting industry
  • Demonstrated leadership traits in the Project Management career path
  • Adept in the technical aspects of one’s discipline
  • Mastery of technical and analytical skills including proficiency in the Civil Engineering field
  • Ability to perform final quality control check in their area of expertise
  • Ability to sell work and develop client relationships
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Eagerness to adapt to new challenges
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight stays

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, see, hear, and lift objects up to 25 pounds
  • Occasionally required to drive, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach with hands or arms, and grasp or pull
  • Will have limited exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noises

About The Team

Bozeman-area civil team focused on residential and subdivision development, including subgrade inspection, site plans, staking, and subdivision feasibility across Bozeman and Big Sky. The team also handles geotechnical reports, septic permitting, and commercial site support in the Billings market, as well as boundary survey, ALTA, and land development for multi-family and custom homes.

Recent work includes Big Sky Subgrade Inspections (Housing), Gallatin County Septic & Geotech (Housing), and Billings Commercial Site Plans (Commercial).
