Senior Civil Engineer

About the role

Chattanooga Engineering Group, one of the largest civil engineering firms in southeast Tennessee, is seeking a highly motivated, conscientious, and innovative Senior Civil Engineer based in the Tampa, Florida area. You will provide design support—including drawings, calculations, and modeling—for civil works projects in North Carolina, specifically involving water, wastewater, stormwater, and roads.

Responsibilities

• Analyze surveys, long-range plans, maps, and other data to design new projects.
• Provide risk analysis while consulting budgetary, regulatory, and environmental factors.
• Prepare material, equipment, and labor cost estimates in financially responsible ways.
• Forecast and manage design and construction timelines.
• Effectively and proactively observe and complete the permitting process with appropriate agencies, ensuring compliance.
• Work remotely while representing CEG in the Tampa, Florida area.

Requirements

• 5+ years of land development experience.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license in the State of Tennessee or Florida (or ability to obtain within 90 days).
• Experience with land development is required.
• Excellent design and visualization software knowledge, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar programs.
• Proficiency in site layout, grading, utility design, erosion control, and regulatory approvals.
• BS/MA in Civil Engineering.
