Senior Civil Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Civil/Highway Engineer to join our dynamic team in the New England area. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of transportation systems that enhance economic vitality, public safety, and community resilience.

Responsibilities

• Leading the design of civil engineering projects to support clients while prioritizing public safety and welfare
• Preparation of plans, detail drawings, and quantity estimates for projects of varying sizes and complexities
• Engagement in multiple areas of design including highway & local roadway design, green infrastructure, stormwater management, drainage & grading, and multi-modal transportation designs
• Collaboration with diverse teams to manage projects from concept to completion
• Coordination of survey, grading, drainage, and utilities, and layout of various site items

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in all aspects of roadway engineering design
• A professional engineering license recognized by the relevant licensing board
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Attention to detail and exemplary work ethic
• Experience with MassDOT, MBTA, and Massachusetts municipalities
• Preferred experience with other New England state DOTs
• Preferred proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation OpenRoads
