Senior Civil Engineer

Position Summary

The Engineering team at DLR Group has an opening for a Senior Civil Engineer. This role involves working in a dynamic and multidisciplinary design team to produce civil engineering designs on a variety of projects for mixed-use, commercial, educational, sports, hospitality, and municipal buildings of all sizes and complexities, along with other site development opportunities.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
• Licensed Professional Civil Engineer (PE) in the State of California
• 8+ years of civil engineering experience, focused on site development related to buildings
• Previous experience working in an A/E and/or Civil Engineering design firm
• An appreciation and understanding of the integrated design process and a desire to work collaboratively with multiple disciplines across multiple sectors
• Proficient with Autodesk Civil 3D
• Working knowledge of additional current civil engineering related software (Hydraflow, Storm and Sanitary Sewer Analysis, InfraWorks, HecRAS)
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written
• Strong understanding of storm water management requirements and hydrologic design
• Experience working on multiple projects at a time, and ability to set priorities to meet all project goals and schedules

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience and interest in sustainable site design and low-impact strategies
• Knowledge of ArcGIS Software
• Knowledge of SketchUp or other rendering software for site plan presentations
• Experience with permit submission and approval processes for state agencies (DSA, OFSM, HCAI)
• Experience leading a team of Civil Engineers and Designers to effectively deliver projects

Pay Range

The suggested pay range for this position is: Pay Range $130,000 - $170,000 USD

Schedule

We follow a four-day in-office work model, with employees having the flexibility to work somewhere other than the office on Fridays.
