Senior Center Bus Transporter

Position Summary

The Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center (Isaacs Center) seeks a Driver to operate a minibus that transports older adults and other authorized personnel to and from the Senior Center and other Isaacs Center locations. The Driver must comply with NYC Aging Requirements, conduct pre-trip inspections, and ensure the bus is clean and safe.

Responsibilities

• Operate the minibus safely and efficiently
• Conduct pre-trip inspections
• Observe and enforce safety regulations and policies
• Reinforce safety rules on the bus
• Keep the bus clean and free of debris
• Perform related work such as transporting the bus for repairs, inspections, and maintenance
• Operate the vehicle in a safe, courteous, and reliable manner
• Assist in the onboarding and off-boarding of passengers using wheelchairs or other mobility aids, and properly secure their wheelchairs in the vehicle

Requirements

• Valid NYS Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
• At least 1 year of experience driving a commercial vehicle
• Knowledge of NYC Aging Requirements
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Pass a background check

Qualifications

• Experience driving a minibus
• Experience working with individuals using wheelchairs or other mobility aids
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
