Back-up Bus Driver (Senior Center)

About the Role
The Senior Center is seeking a Back-up Bus Driver to assist with transporting senior citizens to various Council on Aging programs.
Responsibilities
- Operates multi-passenger vehicles to transport senior citizens to and from various Council on Aging programs.
- Makes daily checks on buses to ensure cleanliness and mechanical efficiency.
- Assists senior citizens with various errands such as carrying groceries.
- Reports injuries or possible failing health or abuse to the Council on Aging Director.
Requirements
- High school graduation or equivalent.
- Experience in driving and working with the elderly.
- Valid Massachusetts Driver license.
- One and a half to three years of experience required.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of safety rules and regulations for driving a bus.
- Ability to handle controls for starting, stopping, backing up, and driving the bus.
- Overall mechanical understanding of a bus.
Skills
- Communication skills.
- Physical effort in assisting elderly people in and out of the bus.
