Responsibilities
- Manage a small caseload for a diverse client population for the following programs: ACS Voucher Recert Program, Emergency Needs for the Homeless Program and Food Access and Assistance Program.
- Conduct intakes and assessments and input information in database (provided by ACS/Robinhood) and Salesforce.
- Provide clients with internal and external referrals as needed.
- Perform client advocacy and follow-up services.
- Document client progress and all interactions with or on behalf of clients in the database.
- Complete training needed to facilitate information to targeted communities (catchment areas in provided Community Districts; BX 1, 2,3,6,4,5,7,9, and 11).
- Participate in community outreach events as scheduled.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree/HS/GED with 1 year experience in benefits and gov’t entitlements.
- Bilingual both verbal and written preferred.
- Proficiency in modern business communications including personal computers, electronic mail, voicemail, and copier equipment.
- Proficiency in virtual platforms is preferred.
- Develop a customized service plan with clients, outlining action steps and responsibilities.
- Absorb and assist the client with obtaining necessary documentation to recertify their existing ACS Childcare voucher. This includes catchment areas in the following community districts in the Bronx (catchment areas; BX 1, 2,3,6,4,5,7,9, and 11).
- Conduct follows-ups to families (using multiple sources such as text, email, phone or in person (if required) to ensure they can sustain their childcare benefit).
- Maintain up to date case files and database entries, as well as regular contact with clients via office visits, telephone contact and home visits.
- Cook up and coordinate client referrals for other needed services.
- Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to use a computer for prolonged periods.
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, or sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to bend and retrieve objects and/or documents.
- Ability to travel in the boroughs of New York City and its adjacent counties via public transportation.
- Ability to travel for a minimum of 1 mile within a reasonable amount of time and in all types of weather, including inclement weather, if required to conduct home visits and/or field work.
