Senior C#/. Net developer with Strong SQL Performance Tuning

This role is a remote, contract-to-hire opportunity based in the EST time zone. North Carolina is preferred but not mandatory.

About the Role

Our premier client is seeking a Software Engineer / Senior .NET Developer to take ownership of an established product. The successful candidate will quickly understand a legacy codebase, troubleshoot issues, and make pragmatic improvements without rewriting the product.

Responsibilities

• Pick up and understand an existing/legacy codebase quickly
• Troubleshoot issues and make pragmatic improvements
• Diagnose and resolve database performance bottlenecks (locking, blocking, etc.)
• Optimize SQL queries, execution plans, indexing, and stored procedures
• Work with and improve legacy web applications
• Perform complex debugging and root-cause analysis
• Support production environments and work independently

Requirements

• C# / .NET
• IIS and production web applications
• SQL Server with strong database performance-tuning experience
• SQL execution plans, query optimization, indexing, and stored procedure tuning
• Kendo UI, jQuery, JavaScript, HTML/CSS
• Web architecture and established design patterns
• Event-driven architecture, asynchronous processing, and messaging
• Experience with Azure DevOps
• Ideally experience with Azure Service Bus, RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar technologies
