Senior Buyer – Medical Device
About the role
Join our global Supply Chain team as a Senior Buyer – Medical Device, where you will play a critical role in securing supply, driving cross-functional alignment, and supporting operations across multiple Natus manufacturing sites.
Responsibilities
- Manage and execute MRP and supply chain actions to ensure material availability while balancing inventory and DIOH targets.
- Place accurate and timely purchase orders with global suppliers, managing delivery schedules, resolving constraints, and driving supplier accountability.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date data within Oracle EBS, ensuring high integrity across all purchasing parameters.
- Cook materials across global Natus sites.
- Manage Engineering Change Requests (ECR/ECO/MCO), minimizing obsolescence and ensuring smooth transitions during design or supplier changes.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) builds with proactive material readiness and cross-functional alignment.
- Support Strategic Sourcing with cost improvements, supplier consolidation efforts, contract updates, and price negotiations.
- Identify and escalate supply risks early, propose mitigation actions, and clearly communicate impacts to stakeholders.
- Represent the purchasing function on cross-functional teams, engaging confidently with individuals at various organizational levels.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in purchasing or supply chain within Medical Device, Pharmaceutical, or Manufacturing industries.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Planning, Quality, Sourcing, and other key departments.
- Strong communication, influencing, and leadership skills, with the ability to drive accountability and build productive relationships at all organizational levels.
- Experience working in a global, multi-site supply chain environment.
- Advanced working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (Oracle EBS highly advantageous).
- Experience with PLM systems—preferably Agile—and managing ECR/ECO/MCO processes.
- High proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, analytics).
- Ability to prioritize effectively and adapt to changing business needs in a structured, fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of regulated manufacturing requirements (QSR, ISO 13485, MDR) and experience operating within a controlled, audit-ready environment.
- Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and proactive problem-solving.
Preferred Skills / Certifications
- APICS CPIM or CSCP, or similar supply chain certification such as ISM’s CPSM.
- Experience negotiating delivery improvements, cost reductions, and managing supplier performance escalations.
Pay
Pursuant to the requirements of applicable State laws and regulations, the starting salary range for this position is $XXX- XXX USD. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
