About the role
TriWest Healthcare Alliance is seeking a Senior Buyer to join our team. The position is remote and open to applicants in AK, AR, AZ, CO, FL, HI, IA, ID, IL, KS, LA, MD, MN, MO, MT, NE, NV, NM, NC, ND, OK, OR, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA/DC, WA, WI & WY.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and document pricing to identify pricing drivers for discreet comparative analysis with other vendors and subcontractors.
- Provide reporting to all levels of leadership to determine negotiating strategies and approval process.
- Partner with Procurement Manager and Director to negotiate lowest possible price with vendors and subcontractors.
- Document all negotiating and compliance factors associated with agreed pricing.
- Responsible for ensuring timely and accurate processing of solicitations, evaluations of proposals, support of complex negotiations and executing awards, while assessing risk and responding to changes in demand or disruptions in the supply chain.
- Communicate with suppliers to obtain ROMs, quotes, execute orders via Purchase order or SOW, and track delivery schedules.
- Create, process, monitor and drive timely purchase orders and SOWs to ensure accuracy and timely fulfillment.
- Research suppliers, products, and market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and reliable sources.
- Ensure purchases align with company policies, budgets, and regulatory requirements (e.g. FAR and DFARS).
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier interactions in procurement systems.
- Work with internal departments to understand purchasing needs, budgetary constraints, and provide timely support.
- Absorb and disseminate information regarding contract status, modifications, etc.
- May conduct research to support contract audit and or facilitate business unit contracting trends.
- Respond to complex inquiries regarding contract financial terms, revisions, and amendments.
- Communicate contract management policy and practice to internal business units.
- Responsible for consultation and escalation to business unit and/or VP on issues which are not solved satisfactorily in a timely manner.
- May participate in development of less complex business alliances and partnering agreements.
- Maintain desk procedures and business unit reference guides as necessary.
- Acts as liaison between Legal, Contract Management, Finance, and Business departments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- U.S. Citizen.
- Must receive a favorable Interim and adjudicated final Department of Defense (DoD) background investigation.
- 5+ years recent experience in Procurement, Purchasing that includes complex procurement tasks such as performing cost analysis, creating sourcing strategies, negotiations and independently resolving issues.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with supplier relationship management.
Preferred
- 10+ years of handling progressively complex procurement tasks and negotiations.
- Proficiency in procurement and other software (e.g. SAP, SharePoint, Ariba, Agiloft, Oracle Procurement Cloud, Coupa).
- Certified as CPSM, CPM or CPPO.
- Familiarity with FAR knowledge or experience with government purchasing.
Skills
- Knowledge of corporate policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of contracting concepts and Federal Acquisition Regulations.
- Analytical and communication skills.

Pay
$84,000 - $88,000 per year.
